Library Policies And Procedures

General Policies

Hours of operation: 7:45 AM to 5:00 PM, School Days

Food, gum, and drinks are not allowed in the Media Center.

Books are checked out for 14 days and magazines for 7 days. Reference
materials such as encyclopedias may not be checked out.. There is no charge
for overdue items; however, items that are lost or damaged are charged the
cost of the book or the damages. Students may have up to 12 items checked
out at one time. Students are not denied check-out privileges for having
overdue items. Check-out is denied when the student owes an excess of
$50.00 in damages and/or lost items.

You must have a school ID number to check out materials. When ID cards are
issued, you must present your ID to check out materials.

You must have a completed OFFICIAL pass to be admitted to the media center
during class time. Each student must have a separate pass. You must have a
definite assignment for coming to the media center – not to surf the
Internet, as a reward for good behavior, etc.

The Media Center is open before and after school and during lunch. Passes
are required for entrance during these times. The library provides a
permanent semester pass which allows you access during these times.
Permanent passes may be requested at the circulation desk and picked up at
the same location the next day. The permanent pass should be attached to
your school ID. It is your responsibility to keep up with your permanent
pass.

Copies may be made at a cost of 10¢ per page on the copier.

Information from the computers for research may be printed at no cost for
ten pages per day. Information over ten pages in length and pages printed
for personal use cost 10¢ a page.

Media Center Visits

Book bags and backpacks should be stored under your seat when in the
library. Limited space in the seating areas means that putting them
elsewhere creates a hazard.

Nail care products, hair spray, perfume, and hand lotion may not be used
while in the Media Center.

All students must sign in and out in the notebook on the circulation desk.
Passes must also be inserted in the time clock to record your times of
arrival and departure.

Unless you are with a class, you must check out a computer to use. Computer
checkout is available at the circulation desk.

Quiet, orderly behavior is expected at all times.
