What if there was no such
thing as math?
I might not understand
multiplication and division.
Wht if you went to school to
learn pure math?
I could be so smart I wouldn't
have to attend college.
What if the whole world was
based on math?
I would have a car with
fractions and a house with
integers.
What if?

I used to hate math
but now I don't.
I always got confused
but I never asked for help.
I once did not understand what the teacher was explaining
but now I learn to listen carefully.
If I could go back in time
I would ask my teachers for help.
I never had the patience to work out the problems
but I might gain more patience over the years of doing math.
I can't figure why I have a hard time working our proportions
but I can solve a problem having to do with fractions.
I won't give up! I will learn all the math that I need to learn
but I might not be the best at it.
I used to wonder why I was so confused in class
but now I know that I need help to just ask my math teacher.

I used to not like math
but now I think it's kind of fun.
I always tried to study for math
but I never could understand math.
I once hated math
but now I have fun in math.
If I could understand it more
I would have more fun in math.
I never thought I would get math
but I might try harder in math.
I can't remember having fun
but I can remember the silly jokes.
I won't try to think of bad moments in math
but I might try to think of the good memories.
I used to not like math
but now it's okay.

This is the poem that reminds me about math
in the afternoon
that makes my day
because it's so cool
because it's fantastic.
And, when I'm bored, I think of math and start to feel better.
This is the poem that describes my life.
This is the poem that can lead me up to math.

I used to fail at math
But now I am very good at math.
I always used to stumble at math
But I never stumble on math anymore.
I once got a 15 on math
But now I get 80's and up.
If I could go back
I would redo my math work.
I would never cheat cause it is wrong
(But I might get cheated off of instead.)
I can't fail at math
But I can make sure I pass.
I won't be a slacker anymore
But I might help other slackers and tutor them.
I used to be a failure at math
But now I am a success.

What if I didn't know how to multiply?
I might have been real dumb.
What if I never even learned math?
I could have struggled in my life with math.
What if I didn't have Mrs. Mortensen as my teacher?
I would never have learned shortcuts.
What if I never learned how to do any kind of math?

My shadow wears
A cloak of math
A coat of numbers
Skin of variables
and he knows
the order of things.
His hair is like
Long strands of ones, one after the other.
My shadow is a Wiz at math
Like a lion is to hunting
Slowly stalking its prey
Hunting in numbers.

I remember my first day in math class.
I remember not understanding integers.
I remember I had to work with big numbers
and hard word problems.
I remember when I had my first math quiz.
I remember my first math project.
I remember my favorite math teacher
even when she would get mad.
I remember my last day in my class
But my favorite memory's yet to come.

All I want is someone to show me how to do math.
Someone to help me with math.
All I want is someone to show me how to do math.
Someone to tell me how.
Someone to explain to me.
All I want is someone to show me how to do math.
Someone to help me subtract.
Someone to show me how to add.
Someone to show me how to divide.
All I want is someone to show me how to do math.
Someone to show me how to multiply.
Someone to show me steps to do a problem.
Someone to tell me how to do T/BO.
Someone to explain fractions.
All I want is to do math right.

I wish I had twenty fingers to count everything.
I wish I had known all the answers on the TAKS.
I wish I had Mrs. M. for 7th grade.
I wish I had a problem like 2+2=5.
I wish I had a calculator in my shoe.
I wish I had a pen that would give me the answers.
I wish I had a little alien in my ear to tell me the answers.
I wish I had a magic wand
to make all my wishes
come true.

Scale the wall. Fear is scary.
Fear is fractions.
Scale the wall. Fear is proportion.
Fear is area.
Scale the wall. Fear is dividing.
Fear is scale factor.
Scale the wall.
Fear is multiplication.
Managed by Mrs. Mortensen.
Conquered by me!

I remember math.
I remember adding.
I remember subtracting.
and multiplication.
I remember division.
I remember proportions.
I remember fractions
even Mrs. Mortensen.
I remember having a great time doing math,
But my favorite memory's yet to come.

I wish I was smarter
Like better in math.
And, I dream of passing college.
I am good at math.
I used to get division wrong
But, now I know how to solve it.
I seem to learn more
But I'm really getting better a day at a time.

My mother once told me
"Math is in you"
but why can't she see
math isn't me
then she said
you won't go outside until your homework is made
then i thought
I take back everything I've said.
