Terry Berkenhoff is currently enjoying her second year as the elementary
principal of NYOS Charter School. Mrs. Berkenhoff received a Bachelor of
Science degree from Texas A&M University in Education Curriculum and
Instruction, and a Master's degree in Educational Administration from
Concordia University, Austin. Her educational experiences include teaching
first grade, serving as an ESOL instructional specialist for students in
grades K-5, and serving two years as an assistant principal in Round Rock
ISD. She brings to her position a passion for teaching and learning and a
commitment to providing excellence in educational experiences in order to
meet the needs of all learners.
Mrs. Berkenhoff is proud to be a part of the NYOS Charter School
professional learning community, and she is committed to fulfilling the
mission and vision of the NYOS Charter. She is dedicated to supporting a
faculty of knowledgeable, caring individuals in order to provide the best
learning opportunities for students.
Mrs. Berkenhoff and her husband, Larry, have four children. Daughter Eileen,
an elementary school teacher, and her husband Phillip live in San Antonio,
Texas. Son, Jim, is a senior at Texas State University, daughter, Molly, is
a sophomore at the University of Texas at Austin, and daughter, Rachel, is a
freshman at Texas State University. Mrs. Berkenhoff also has two cats: Lucy,
the indoor cat, and Socks, the outdoor cat. She enjoys reading, shopping,
and spending time with her family, especially at the beach.
