This is my 3rd year teaching at NYOS Charter School. My first 2 years
I taught 2nd and 3rd. I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in December 2006 with
a bachelors degree in Applied Learning and Development and a minor in Business.
I love helping my students become the very best learners that they can be.
Our classroom will be one where the student excels academically as the year
progresses. I plan to make learning fun and exciting. My goal is to motivate
my students so that together they can be the best second/third graders in
the whole school! We are off to a GREAT START!!!! LET THE LEARNING BEGIN...

My philosophy of education is child centered. I believe all children can
learn and it is up to the teacher to find the various means, methods, and
strategies to reach them by recognizing the unique talents and ways of
learning they possess. I want to have a part in raising the achievement of
children in our city and in bridging the achievement gap that persists both
in our region and in our nation.
To do this, I hold high expectations for both students and parents. I
will ask that parents work with me as team members and I will be flexible
in making myself available for meetings and phone conferences. I will
provide ample supplies and materials students need and ask only that
students come to school every day, on time, ready and eager to learn.
Second and third grade is an exciting year in a child's life. Our time
together at NYOS will be engaging and rewarding, a time of great success and
achievement.
