Homework

Students will be getting a "Homework Spiral" this year. Nightly, they will be
asked to complete a math problem and respond to a writing prompt. They will
have, at least, the week's worth of homework in the spiral, so if they know
they will be busy on a certain night, they can finish the work ahead of time.
We will go over it daily, so it cannot be left until the last day of the
week. It is okay if a student does not understand a problem in their
notebook, but effort to complete it must be shown. A note explaining that the
student had trouble is much appreciated so that we can work on that type of
problem together in class.

In addition to the homework spiral, students are to complete 20 minutes of
reading nightly and record it in their reading log (school-wide policy).
Students may be assigned reading and may be asked to complete questions or
other responses to text.
