I love teaching, learning and being a part of educating children!
In 1979, I graduated with a professional teaching certificate from Stephen
F. Austin State University. I've taught in various grade levels through Jr.
High and coached in High School, as well, but much of my experience has been
grounded in the elementary grades. I've been in the business of educating
children for 29 years.
In May of 2003, I earned a Masters Degree with a Certificate in
Administration. It is now very exciting and a privilege for me to serve as
your new Elementary Principal, at North. It has been fun from the start and
I am looking forward to more new adventures in education. I have learned
through the years that our children are often great teachers!
I am now making a home in Breckenridge with my husband Tonny, who is
serving as the At Risk Coordinator for BISD, while also coaching football
and baseball for the Buckaroos! Our son, Travis, is attending BHS, as a
Sophomore. Our home is shared with two Golden Retrievers, Jac and Sam, and
our Calico cat; Kimber.
The eldest of our five children is Trista, our daughter, and she is married to
Jarod Hunter. They are both college graduates and commute to Dallas to work.
They have built a new home in Ennis and are raising my first grandchild,
Greyson Luke, there. I'm certainly proud to be a "Nana"!
Living in Ennis, commuting to work, and becoming new parents keep them busy,
as you can imagine.
Tonny and I have three children still working hard earning college degrees.
Tate and Shannon are earning degrees in education and business at Tarleton
State University. Shannon plays tennis for TSU, while they both stay busy
with intramural play, as well, Tate also works for the intramural department
during the school year and through the summers. Shannon and Matt Jordan had
a beautiful wedding on August 18, 2007 and have made a temporary home in
Stephenville, while finishing school. Matt is earning his degree there at
TSU, as well. Taylor, is a student at SAGU, in Waxahachie, and is playing
Lion football. He stayed busy this summer working camps in New Mexico for
SAGU, and is now busy with football and classes.
They all try to stay involved in extra activities and love it!
So, as you can see, with five great kids, two wonderful son-in-laws,
and a precious grandchild we do love family!!!
We are so very proud of them all.
What a blessing!
All children have special talents and strengths. It's important to work as
a team to focus on those talents, share them with one another to create a
wonderful, secure, learning environment. Life long learners are built in
and out of the classroom. Students at North can do anything they put their
mind and heart into! With this in mind it will be an outstanding experience
to be a part of the educational process at North, whether a student, teacher,
staff member, or principal. It will be wonderful being a part of North
Elementary School, where family is respected, positive relationships are
built and learning is esteemed!
North Elementary teachers and students are COOL!
