Planning Timeline for School Field Trip
September 2009
- Begin planning the school field trip. If you need information or assistance, contact Barbara Langham, 512-346-2261, blangham@austin.utexas.edu.
Jan. 4, 2010
– Begin registering your school buses online at www.utexas.edu/events/exploreut. You are responsible for travel to Explore UT. The University does not provide transportation to the campus. Registration of buses helps the University plan parking.
– Begin reserving group lunch in Jester Center. Fee $5.75 a person. Jester Center usually reaches capacity in mid-February and will stop taking reservations. Food is also available from campus vendors without reservations.
– Inform teachers about free professional development credit for selected activities.
NOTE: For families that come on their own in private vehicles, there is no registration. Parking is available in campus garages - first-come, first-served.
Mid-February, 2010
- Download a printer-friendly version of the complete Explore UT schedule. Plan which activities you will do.
March 1, 2010
- Expect to receive bus parking instructions and map for entering the University campus.
March 6, 2010
- Enjoy Explore UT.
Mid-March 2010
- Download the “class photo” from the Explore UT Web site.
