About Your Library Staff

Welcome to the Old Town Elementary Library website! My name is Mrs. Garza, 
and I am the new librarian at Old Town Elementary. Together with Mrs. Julie
Hudson, we are excited to have an opportunity to share our love for books,
reading and information literacy skills with the students at Old Town. 

Please watch for notes sent home this year regarding Book Fairs, Happy
Birthday Book Club, Home access codes for RRISD Online Resources (subscription
databases) and reading programs. Hope to see you all in the library!!

Objectives of the Library

To assist students in becoming effective and efficient users of ideas and 
information by 

- promoting and sharing the joy of reading
- teaching and modeling information skills
- encouraging life long learning.
