Rocks and Soil!!!

Please help your child collect up to 6 rocks of different colors, textures, and sizes.  Send collections to school in an egg carton by Friday, January 29th.  Please label the carton with your child's name and teacher's name.

Valentine's Information:

In lieu of the traditional Valentine mailboxes, I am going to have the children decorate a white handled gift bag.  We will decorate them at school the week of February 8th-12th.  I already have the bags, but we are in need of Valentine stickers and/or foam hearts to decorate with!  most of the stores already have their Valentine goodies out, so these items should be easy to find.  Any donations you can send will be put to good use!  Please feel free to have your child bring a Valentine card for each friend.  If you address the enveloeps for your child, please do not write the names in cursive handwriting as they won't be able to read the names when they go to distribute the cards!  Our card exchange will happen on Friday February 12th.

Information went home on Tuesday, January 26th about the kindergarten Valentine's Day party on Friday, February 12th from 8:15 - 9:30 a.m.  There will be lots of activities going on and we would like some volunteers to help with them!  We are asking for donations of Valentine stickers, red bordette (corrugated bulletin board border), red and white pony beads, heart shaped pony beads, spaghetti string and Little Debbie heart shaped cakes.  Please send any donations before Wednesday, February 10th.  Our homeroom mom will be getting in touch with parents about refreshments.

Thank you as always for supporting the kindergarten team!

100th Day of School Celebration Homework:

February 3rd will mark the 100th day of the school year!  Please have your child collect 100 of a small item such as seeds, beans, shells, etc.  Please place them in an empty plastic 16 oz. soda or water bottle.  Your child may bring this to school any time before February 3rd.

Homework reminder:  homework is due on Fridays!  Encourage your child to complete one page per day!  Don't forget to read daily!  Any unfinished daily class work will be sent home to be completed and returned the following school day!

It is essential that your child arrives on time for school.  The beginning of the day is a crucial part of the day.  When children are late, it not only disrupts their learning, but also disrupts the learning of others in the classroom as well.  If your child is late enough to miss the class lunch count, then they may be not be able to get the tray of their choice - they will automatically get Tray 1.

Fall weather....dress like a banana with layers!  It's a good idea to keep a lightweight jacket in the backpack as well!  Please label all clothing!  If your child is missing something, check the lost and found bin in the main hallway. It is overflowing right now!

Please send in snack at the beginning of each month!

There is still a lot of sickness going around.  Please be cognizant of this as your child complains about not feeling well.  Please adhere to the district policies regarding sick children.  Thank you for helping us stay healthy!

In an effort to stay healthy, the school nurse has asked that water bottles be stored in separate gallon ziploc bags.  Please send your child's water bottle to school in a ziploc to help stop the spread of germs!
