Ms. Parks has been a Texas educator for twenty-four years. She has taught
every grade from pre-kindergarten through junior college, and she has
specialized in gifted education since 1985. Ms. Parks earned a Master's
Degree in Education from the University of North Texas, and has, since
receiving her masters, completed fifty-seven graduate hours, including
twelve hours in G/T studies at SMU. Ms. Parks is very proud that former
students have twice nominated her to Who's Who Among America's Teachers. She
has taught at Tarrant County College, and in the Azle, Fort Worth, and
Southlake Independent School Districts. When she's not teaching (which she
loves), Ms. Parks enjoys reading, adventure traveling, swimming, skydiving,
and hanging out with her very large and very loud family.
The mission for the Quest class is to create students:
(1)who have a passion for learning.
(2)who achieve competence in accessing and processing information.
(3)who recognize, value, and refine individual strengths and
learning styles.
(4)who independently set and work towards achieving goals and
objectives.
(5)who create meaningful and original products and ideas.
(6)who generously share their gifts and talents with others.
