| The music program follows the district’s music curriculum, which is built
around the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills with the predominant
methodology being Orff-Schulwerk. Students will explore 6 areas of music:
rhythm, tone color, pitch, harmony, history/culture and performance. While
exploring these six areas, students will participate in a variety of age-
appropriate music activities including singing, playing instruments,
movement, music composition and music reading. Through these activities,
students not only learn important music skills, but they have a chance to
develop performance skills as well. The entire music curriculum is available
on-line through the district’s website.
