The students are encouraged to read every day. Every week they are able to choose several books from
the library and take them home to read. The students are asked to read the books 3 times to fully
understand the story.
After they have read the books several times, they will be required to take an AR test which will ask
them comprehensive questions about the book they read.
Please take some time to read to your child every day. Then allow your child to read to you, as well.
The following are the required AR points for each quarter.
First quarter - 2pts.
Second quarter- 4 pts.
Third quarter- 6 pts.
Fourth quarter - 8 pts.
You can also check how your child is doing on the AR program by going to AR Home Connect - or the
Renaissance page. You will need your child's AR user name and password. Your child should know this
information or I can send it again if needed.
