Accelerated Reader (AR) program is a very important part of the 2nd grade reading program. The students must check out 2 AR books in the library weekly and test on them after completion. Testing may be done in the library or in the classroom after all work is done. An AR grade is averaged into the reading grade each 9 weeks.
The AR points for each 9 weeks period:
1st 9 weeks: 2 pts
2nd 9 weeks 4 pts
3rd 9 weeks 6 pts
4th 9 weeks 8 pts
