Accelerated Reader (AR) program is a very imoprtant part of the 2nd grade reading program. The students must check out AR books in the library and test on them after completion. Testing may be done in the library or in the classroom after all work is done. An AR grade is averaged into the reading grade each 9 weeks.

The point sysyem required is:

1st 9 weeks 2 pts

2nd 9 weeks 4 pts

3rd 9 weeks 6 pts

4th 9 weeks 8 pts
