CeVMS and Walsh MS Transition Information


On Monday, February 8th, the 5th grade students from Patsy Sommer Elementary 
will travel to the Performing Arts Center at McNeil High School.  The 
students will hear presentations from the Cedar Valley Fine Arts Department.  

On Thursday, February 11th, the CeVMS Counselor will visit with the 5th grade 
students to help them register for 6th grade.

On Tuesday, February 16th, there will be a parent information meeting for 
parents of 5th grade students.  The meeting will be held in the Cedar Valley 
Cafeteria from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

On Friday, March 5th, your child’s registration paperwork is due back to 
their 5th grade teacher. (If you are planning on moving to a different 
school, Cedar Valley would still like your child to turn in the paperwork 
just in case plans change.)

On Thursday, May 6th, there will be a “Brown Bag Lunch” for parents of 5th 
grade students.  It will be held at Patsy Sommer Elementary from 
12:00p.m.until 1:00 p.m. 

On Thursday, May 13th, fifth grade students will be visiting Cedar Valley 
Middle School.  Students will be able to observe sixth grade classes and have 
lunch at Cedar Valley.

Walsh Middle School Information

On February 10, Grade 5 students will visit WMS for a Performance Arts 
Presentation.

On February 11, Katherine Pimental will visit the Gr. 5 students at Sommer.
