Happy Holidays! We are back in the full swing of things! January 5
was the start of our 3rd nine weeks. We have a busy second semester
ahead of us. There have been some changes in our gradelevel policies
that you should be aware of.
Spelling is continuing, but the homework has seen a facelift. Students are no
longer completing the 40 points worth of activities, instead they will be completing
nightly assignments. Checkout our spelling link for more specifics about what
the nightly homework assignments are. Just a reminder, homework
assignments are to be turned in by the end of the day they are due or else it's a 0.
The 4th Grade team is really trying to prepare our students for next year. We
are working on getting our students to be more accountable for their actions and
raise the level of their responsibility. There are less warnings being given, so our
conduct grades at the end of the day may be lower than normal. Continue
talking with your child/ren about mature, responsible behavior and how they
should handle themselves while at school.
Just a reminder, if your child is interested in doing the Math Superstars, each week
you will find the problems on the Sommer website under the parents link.
A new set of problems are posted each Monday that you download and
print off for them to complete. They need to be turned back in to the Math
Superstars folder that is located in our room no later than Friday morning.
The children are working towards points for prizes! This is an excellent way
to have them work on some challenging problems outside of the classroom!
