I am originally from Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University. After
graduation, I was looking to challenge myself therefore I moved to Washington,
D.C. I taught kindergarten for three years with a wonderful school in
Montgomery County Public Schools before I have relocated back to Texas to be
closer to family. My husband, Niel, is also a teacher at Patsy Sommer
Elementary. We were married on Leap Day 2008. We have three cats, Felix,
Buster and Olive. Last summer, my favorite writing topic and our beloved cat,
Murphy, passed.
When we are not teaching, we enjoy going to the movies, discovering new
"mom-n-pop" restaurants, traveling and being competitive.

Favorite Color: I like any bold colors. I do not like pastels.
Favorite Food: I love Tex-Mex and BBQ
Favorite Restaurant: Any Tex-Mex restaurant and Rudy's
Favorite Drink: Diet Dr. Pepper
Favorite Candy: Unfortunately, I do not like candy.
Favorite place to shop: Target, Lakeshore Teacher Store, Hobby Lobby,
Michael's, Lowes, IKEA, Pier One, Half-Priced Books
Favorite thing to do: I love traveling, doing arts-n-crafts and going to the
movies.
Our goal in kindergarten is to build a foundation for life-long, independent
learning which emphasizes reading and mathematical readiness, scientific
inquiry, creative expression and the development of social skills through a
developmentally appropriate program. As your teacher, I am committed to
providing meaningful learning opportunities to meet your child's needs.
