This will be my ninth year teaching, with one year of PFLEX, one year of 4th
grade, and the rest in fifth grade. I graduated from the University of
Texas, and worked in many different jobs before I started teaching -- from
Texas French Bread bakery, to the Victoria Zoo, to a plant nursery, to
several libraries at the University of Texas. I had a Girl Scout troop, and
volunteered in my children's elementary classrooms, where I realized how much
I liked the idea of teaching. I am so happy to be at Dessau
Elementary and Brookhollow Elementary this year, and am so very excited to
be teaching this second year of the PFLEX program!
I'm married and have three children; two in high school in 10th and 12th
grades, and my oldest is in his sophomore year in college. We have
a big orange hound dog named Precious ( my Preciooussss, says
Gollum), an orange cat named Sam, a cross-eyed kitty named
Pippin, and three other cats, orange Treebeard, tortoise-shell Niomie, and
black and white Olivia (she likes to sleep in the sink). I love to read,
garden, camp, and find new and interesting ways to teach children!
