My name is Belinda Jacobs, and this is my fifth year of teaching at
PMS. This year I will be teaching both regular and PreAP 8th grade science.
A little about me:
I grew up in Pflugerville, attending both PMS and PHS. After initially
majoring in Bioengineering, I switched gears and graduated from Louisiana
Tech University with a B.S. in Elementary Education (1-8), concentrating my
coursework in the sciences and language arts. I hold certification in
Elementary Education (1-8) and Special Education (1-8). This fall I begin
working on my M.S. in Geosciences.
I have been married for 13 years to my college sweetheart, and we
have two children who are in the 3rd and 4th grades in the district. When I
am not at school, I can be found singing/performing with Round Rock
Community Choir or with my church worship team, reading books, scrapbooking,
traveling with my family, hugging my new nephew, training for my 5th Austin
Marathon, and promoting autism awareness. I am also choreographing this
year's musical at PMS--so come see us!.
My primary goal this year is not only to prepare my students for high
school, but to encourage a desire for lifelong learning. I am looking
forward to a wonderfully successful year!
My mission for my class is in line with our mission here at PMS:
The mission of Pflugerville Middle School is to foster an involved community
of responsible lifelong learners who act with integrity and embrace
diversity through mutual respect in a safe, nurturing environment.
