Who can participate in Choir?

Choir is for fourth and fifth graders who love to sing and are willing to 
practice after school and memorize music.

When should my student start piano lessons?

The answer is usually when they can easily read letters and numbers fluently 
or usually around first or second grade.

Where can my student get piano or guitar lessons?

Pond Springs has it's own afterschool music program for piano and guitar. 
These are group lessons using the latest technology. If you want private
lessons the district has a list of private teachers.

How often shoud my child pratice music?

They should practice everyday for short periods of time.First and second 
graders may do several 10 minutes sessions. Older students can do up to 40
minutes at a time.

What is the Kodaly method of teaching?

The Kodaly method of teaching uses a spiraling skills curriculum for it's 
litracy program. It teaches skills Aurally/orally, physically and
visually.Most of the music used is authentic American folk songs. Students
learn to read ,write, play music while developing a beautiful singing voice.
