Flu and Virus Season

As we are approaching the flu season please remember that good hand washing is the single most effective way to avoid the spread of infection. This should last for at least 30 seconds using soap and warm water. If you are not able to get to a sink the waterless hand cleaners are also effective.

Here are a few ways to keep in mind to avoid the spread of germs to your self and others. When coughing cough into your arm rather than your hand. Do not drink after some one else. If you have been sick with a virus, sore throat, or a cold once you are recovered, throw away your toothbrush/toothbrush head to avoid re- infecting your self.

If you should become ill treat the symptoms by resting, drink lots of fluids, take Advil or Tylenol for body aches or other pain, and avoid contact with others when you are sick. Clean the areas that everyone touches with disinfectant, ex. Door knobs, telephone, handle to flush the toilet, and the knobs to turn on the water at the sink.

Please call the Nurses Office if you are ill and let us know what your symptoms or diagnosis is. We track illness in the school.
