A proud Buckeye, I have a bachelors degree in Mathematics and Physics
Education and a masters degree in Mathematics from The Ohio State University.
I have taught for 27 years in Cincinnati, Columbus, Dallas and Fort Worth.
Paschal has been my home for 12 years where I serve as the chair of the
mathematics department.
I love teaching with technology, attending national/regional conferences each
year to improve my teaching and share ideas with other teachers. I received
the Ohio’s Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching Mathematics in 1993,
the Fort Worth Radio Shack Chair for Teaching Excellence in 2002, the
National Radio Shack Teaching Award in 2004, Texas Exes Award for
Secondary Teachers in 2008 and the Teachers Teaching with Technology
Leadership Award at the annual conference in Seattle 2009. I enjoy writing
new math and science activities and have coauthored seven books since 1994. I
have served as a national instructor for Teachers Teaching with Technology,
the professional development arm of Texas Instruments. This position has
allowed me to present workshops in more than 30 states and two different
countries.
I have two children, Robby and Katie at McLean Middle School, soon to be
Panthers. My husband, Mike Russel, works at TCU in Student Affairs. Go Frogs!
I love teaching at Paschal and look forward to working with students each
day. Please let me know if I can help make your experience in my class
better. Student success is my top priority!
