| At the beginning of the year I will be assessing each child's sight word
knowledge, and will send home flashcards for them to practice nightly, if
possible. Remember, we are learning. Your child may not get the word
completely right the first time, but that is ok. We will continue to work on
the words at school, until the children can read the words on their own.
Thank you for your support at home.
Remember to read to your child at least 20 minutes each night. Have them
point out any sight words that they know. It can turn into a fun I Spy game.
From time-to-time I will be sending home homework. Please make sure that
your child completes it and brings it the next school day. Thank you for
your help.
