I have been
in HISD for 30 years and this is my 20th year at Red. I taught fifth grade
for most of that time and all of the time here at Red. It was always a
great pleasure to help prepare the students for neighboring middle schools.
Red has also
been my school of choice for my own three children. All three started
in Red Preschool and continued until the end of Fifth Grade. My oldest
is now a senior at Concordia University majoring in communications and
playing baseball. My second son is at Trinity University playing football
for the Tigers and hasnt declared a major yet. My daughter, a Pershing
Panda Cheerleader is in the seventh grade. Red was an excellent beginning
for all my children who have excelled in all their HISD middle schools
and high schools.
They particularly
enjoyed being part of the Magnet Program. My son insists he still uses
the number sense he learned as a competitor. My other son is using his
computer skills with his dynamic communications course he is completing
in Austin. My daughter has placed in several science fairs with the skills
and concepts she learned in labs. In my spare time, when not attending
football, baseball, or cheerleading events, I like to read, cook, and
go running. My husband and I enjoy finding and trying out new restaurants. |
