My name is Michelle Smith. I have been working at Red Elementary since 1991.
My first 5 years at Red were as a 1st grade teacher. I have an undergraduate
degree in Elementary Education from Ohio University and a Masters Degree in
Library Science from the University of Maryland. I have worked as a medical
librarian, law librarian, public librarian as well as a school librarian. I
have worked in Washington, D.C. as a law librarian and at the National Library
of Medicine as a medical librarian. I worked in Harris County as a public
librarian at the Fairbanks Branch Library.
To encourage reading and improve reading skills for all students at Red
Elementary.
