**Work on the reading activities with your child each evening.
**Please read with your child each evening.  To help with comprehension, ask 
a few questions after you read the story or have your child retell the story 
to you.
**Complete the poetry activities with your child.

Looking for other ideas?  Here are a few suggestions:

You and your child could work together to create a puppet show of your 
favorite stories.

You might want to start an interactive journal.  Your child writes a note to 
you and you respond.

Play a game with your child.  This is a good way to work on math skills and 
it teaches social skills like taking turns and being a good sport.
