November’s theme is Space Science. We will be out in space this month.
Primary students will use various software programs. Some of them include
Learn about Astronomy, Thinking Science, Science Blaster Jr., The Magic
School Bus Visits Outer Space and Mars. They will learn about and write
about our solar system and constellations.
Intermediate students will use several Internet sites and software packages,
which include Learn about Astronomy, Space Academy and Kidspiration.
Students will develop Internet research skills, create graphic organizers,
their own planet postcards, solve a variety of quizzes and games about our
Solar System. Students will prepare to be astronauts by taking several trips
in a virtual shuttle through our galaxy. They will find out a lot about the
Sun, our planets in our solar system, and constellations.
We have a wonderful online keyboarding program this year. This program
provides lessons, practices and activity sheets. It is in English in all
grades in and Spanish for grades pre kindergarten to sixth grade. Please
encourage your child to practice his/her keyboarding at home. I have created
accounts for all levels. Perhaps you would like to brush up on your skills.
