At our January 24, 2007 monthly TRC meeting, participants created a classroom web site to take
back to their schools! As promised, the Region 12 TRC Science Department has purchased the
remainder of the year so as to keep these web pages working. All members who have created a web
page with a link to their email have been sent the password via email to enter into the
TeacherWeb system. If you have not created a web page and would like to OR if you have a web
page and did not receive the email, please call Jessie McNeil, Region 12 ESC Core Curriculum
Math & Science Intern at 254-297-1132 or email at jmcneil@esc12.net. Thanks and don't forget to
be creative!
At our February 19, 2007 monthly TRC meeting, we had the opportunity to listen & participate in
a presentation from the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 59 on the topic of the "Wild
Blue Wonders" contest. For more information on this contest and wonderful opportunity check
out: www.waco-tx-eaa.org. You can also access this web page from our "Links" page.
At our March 22, 2007 monthly TRC meeting, we discussed and introduced part of the GLOBE
Project. We took an exciting field trip out to the Gaudalupe River and participated in fresh
stream water testing and experimentation.
At our April 25, 2007 monthly TRC meeting, we discussed and thought more about our Service
Learning Projects both for our classrooms and for the collaborative as a whole. We came up with
ideas such as school gardens, butterfly fields, recycling days, green schools, community clean
up, and many, many more. Please start thinking about these projects for your classrooms! It is
amazing what a child can learn through service!
At our May 9, 2007 monthly TRC meeting, we held a celebration to remember complete with balloons
and breakfast! We celebrated the end of the school year with recognition of all of our teachers
who have completed 105 Professional Development Hours. Brian Brabham of ESC Region 12 gave a
presentation on the TSDS Program that is available for teachers to use for the free creation of
subject tests.
