Open Nominations for Talented and Gifted program services begin November
16th.Nomination packets will be available in the counseling office or online
http://www.roundrockisd.org/index.aspx?page=2948 on the RRISD website
beginning November 16th at 8am . Directions for
accessing the packets online are included on our Ridgeview Counselor website
under informational flyers.
Completed referral paperwork and permission to test must be received by 4pm
on Friday December 4th. Nominations may be completed by teachers, parents or
by the student but parent permission must be obtained for the evaluation
process.

If your child is new to Round Rock ISD and was identified for that district's
Talented and Gifted program in their previous district (not for Leadership or
in honors classes) please be sure you submit the documentaion and the
transfer testing forms you were given at enrollment to Carrie Proctor by
September 4th. This will provide enough time to get materials ordered and
students tested within the 30 day period.
The Open Nomination window for the TAG program is typically the end of
November. Continue to check this site for updated information as it becomes
available.
Examination for Acceleration forms are due in the Department of Gifted and
Advanced Academic Services by June 3, 2009. Exams will be administered June
23-25, 2009 at Deep Wood Elementary.
Please see your grade level counselor before Friday May 29th in order to
complete the paperwork and get signed up for the testing. Once registered,
students will be notified by mail regarding the date and time of each exam.
K-5 students must take exams in all four subjects areas. Middle school and
high school may accelerate in a single subject. Student wishing to
participate in Examination for Acceleration through the district at the
district's expense must take the exams during the above window. If a student
is unable to participate during this time, they may make arrangements with
the University of Texas Continuing & Extended Education Department to take
the exams through UT at the student's expense ($30.00 per exam). Please note
that UT will only test grades 3-12. The same exam may not be taken twice for
credit if a student is unsuccessful at the first attempt.
Only Examination for Acceleration will be offered through the district.
Credit by Exam may be offered to secondary students through the campus at the
student's expense per school board policy.
