November 5th at 6:00pm RMS will be hosting an Academy night in the Ridgeview
Lecture Hall for all 8th grade parents who would like information about Cedar
Ridge High School academy programs. All 8th graders will need to have their
academy selections done by the 2nd week in March so their 4-year plans can be
complete.
TheTexas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT)is seeking nominations for 2012 TAGT Area and State Awards. TAGT recognizes outstanding service and support of gifted and talented education in Texas schools and communities in five categories:Teacherof the Gifted,Rising Star Teacherof the Gifted,Administratorof the Gifted,Advocatefor the Gifted,Parentof the Gifted. Don’t miss this opportunity to have outstanding service in your district or school highlighted by the largest state G/T organization in the nation. Summer TAG testing
Summer TAG Testing (for students transferring from other school districts only) is scheduled onTuesday, July 31 and Wednesday, August 1, 2012.Students who registered in school after the January testing are also eligible to test.
Interested parents that meet the above qualifications may fill out a copy of the Parent/Student Information sheet in the Ridgeview counseling office before the last day of school and we will send it via school mail to the Department of Advanced Academic Services.
Please note thatthis is not the registrationform to register for summer TAG testing, but a source of information we need to contact parents about the registration process.
The district is in the process of revising our Referral Packet which includes the registration forms and as soon as this process has been completed, parents that have filled out the Parent/Student information form will be contacted.

TAG open nominations will be November 14-December 5. The district will be posting the referral packet on the Announcements page of the Gifted and Advanced Academic Services web site for parents to download the morning of November 14th and will take it down the afternoon of December 5th.
