Athletic Policies

Policies
 Ridgeview Panther Athletics
General Information/Policies

Welcome to Ridgeview Middle School Boys Athletics. Our goal is to provide
our athletes with a positive sport experience while preparing them for high
school athletics. Academic performance is a priority. All athletes must
maintain passing grades in all classes. They must learn how to budget their
time between practice and homework in order to achieve excellence in the
classroom and in their sport.

The safety of our athletes is a priority. Injuries can result in football,
basketball, and track. In our practices, we stress correct techniques and
repeat these each day in drills in order to minimize the risk of injury to
our athletes. All athletes will learn fundamental skills in their sport and
will progress once these skills are mastered.

Building character and integrity is our ultimate goal. All who influence
these young men play a vital role in this process. Parents, teachers,
coaches, peers, and the athlete must work together to achieve this goal.
Ridgeview Panther coaches expect the following from those involved in
Panther Athletics:

1.	Treat others and their property with respect, dignity, and courtesy.
2.	Display good sportsmanship at all times and in all situations.
3.	Be a good student/citizen and comply with school rules, athletic
policies, and requests from teachers, administrators, and coaches.
4.	Be aware at all times that you are a representative of the Panther
Athletic Program. Do not behave in a negative manner that would
discredit your community, school, family, team, coaches, or yourself.

Participation in games will be determined by attendance and performance in
practice. If an athlete must miss practice, the athlete’s parent must send
a note or call the coaches’ office.

Always be aware that participation in athletics is a privilege. Failure to
follow district, school, and athletic policies can result in removal from
the athletic program.

We look forward to meeting and working with the Ridgeview Panther Athletes.

Grades

in order to participate in athletic contests. The UIL eligibility calender
determines when they lose and regain eligibility. Students are expected at
all practices regardless of eligibility.

Schedules/Travel/Games
Schedules and links for directions to schools are posted on the
Ridgeview Athletic site.
It is the policy of RRISD that all athletes should ride together to and
from a game. Arrangements must be made 24 hrs. in advance with the
athlete's coach in order for them to leave a contest site. They must be
signed out with the coach. Athletes may only be released to their parents.
