Welcome back from break! As we quickly approach all of our TAKS tests, you
will notice an increase in the intensity of your childs day. We will be
increasing our writing time, and you can help at home by asking in great
detail about their everyday lives. If they can tell you details, then they
can write details. Encourage them to creat a picture and "show not tell"
with their words.
We have also started literature circles, where the kids have chosen books at
their levels and have a book club of their peers. They will be reading with
their groups and myself, discussing with each other, recording their thoughts
on paper, and their favorite part of all....they will be blogging to each
other about it. Please check our your childs blog, which encourages a lot of
discussion about books at home.
