About The Teacher
Hello and welcome to my class- a little about myself. I am married to my wife Jodi for more than 20 years and we have two children, Matt age 14, and Sam age 12. My wife is also a teacher- 1st grade for just about as long as we have been together. My oldest son, Matt, is all about baseball. Sam is really active in Tae Kwon Do. I worked for many years in the corporate world which I found to be stifling and drab. I spent several years working in the entertainment industry with United Artists, a number of years in marketing and telecom and also as a professional scubadiver, instructor and tourguide. The best decision I ever made was to become a teacher which I did through an alternative certification program. I'm a History geek. Just ask anyone in my family or a former student- just about everything I do is in some way connected to my interest in history. I graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in History with an emphasis on military history and a minor in Germanic civilization. I am a member of the Texas Military Historical Society and have worked with the Texas State Historical Commission in underwater archaeological research. I also actively collect, buy, sell, and trade military antiques. Hobbywise I enjoy collecting and restoring antiques, building scale models, the shooting sports, and film.

Mission
Our mission together is to study the history of civilization (and of Europe in APES) from the origins of mankind up to the present. Just 10-15k years of history in a school year. I don't expect everyone to share my passion for history- but look, you have to take this class to graduate so do your part and I promise I'll help you in any way I can. Ask around.
