Student Support Counselor Judy Roberts 464-6081 Academic Success is a priority for Student Support Services. Mrs. Roberts strives to serve our students with minimal academic interference. Students are referred by parents, educators, peers, and through self referrals. She offers individual/group support as well as referral/collaboration with outside agencies. She will address issues of depression, school anxiety, substance abuse, truancy, conflict resolution, academic difficulties, eating disorders, and interpersonal relationships. Although she intervenes with crisis issues, our goal is to prevent crisis with ongoing support/referral. Academic counseling for the 9th grade is the shared responsibility of Theresa Hertel and Kathyrn Hernandez. The sophomore counseling duties are shared by Mr. Dennis Isenberg and Mrs. Mary Kiely, and the junior counselor is Mrs. Cheryl Alexander. The seniors are fortunate to have Ms. Sue Shuford guiding them with the decisions they will be making this year. Mrs. Debbie Rodriguez, the lead counselor, will work with the English as a Second Language Population in addition to the administrative duties. Our center couldn’t function without our administrative assistants, Ms. Jennifer Navarrette. Ms. Navarrette will continue to work with college and scholarship duties in addition to many other things to help the counselors. She will be joined by an additional admininstrative assistant, whose smiling face will greet students and parents as they sign in at the center and will keep traffic flowing smoothly.
