unannounced quizzes.  In-Class essays will follow major units of reading.  
The Primary Text is Roberts and Jacobs, Literature: an Introduction to 
Reading and Writing, 5th edition.  The Auxiliary text is DiYanni, Literature: 
Reading Fiction, Drama, Poetry and the Essay.  You will be provided 
additional materials, to be kept in your notebook, which are also treated as 
your textbook.  You must bring your notebook to class daily.
