About The Teacher
Welcome to the 2011-2012 school year! Get ready to study the amazing human body and the many health careers available to help people maintain optimal health. We are going to have a good time! I have a lived a few places in the United States that include western Pennsylvania, good ol' Texas, the mountains of Colorado, and the rainy Pacific Northwest. My high school days were spent living on the Air Force Academy in Colorado followed by attendance at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. At Fort Lewis I studied Exercise and Sports Science and became and soon after finishing became an Athletic Trainer. I followed up my schooling at Fort Lewis with a Master's Degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in rehabilitation from California University of Pennsylvania. My career thus far has afforded me the opportunity to gain some amazing knowledge of health care. In Austin, TX I ran my own business helping people manage their injuries and providing athletic training coverage to athletic events all around the metro area. After doing that for a couple of years I decided that I wanted to experience working in occupational medicine where I helped employees at Boeing manage and prevent injuries. I love being outside and enjoying sports/fitness. I can’t get enough of running, biking, climbing, hiking, backpacking, and the list goes on an on.
