August 16, 2005 Dear Parents, We are excited to have your son or daughter in Round Rock High School’s 4th year of the Introduction to Criminal Justice class. It is our goal that this course will lead to a three year program to the up and coming Law Academy. Round Rock High School is proud to introduce the instructors for this class and assure you that both of these teachers are well qualified to serve your students. Officer Marc Gray graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1997, after serving four years in the United States Marine Corp. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and has served as a police officer for the past eight years. He was hired by the Round Rock Police department in 2003 and has served as a School Resource Officer for the past four years. For the past 15 years, Officer Gray has taught to both military personnel and civilians on topics such as National Defense, Security, Crime Prevention, Gangs and Police Tactics. He specializes in several units including: Gang Tasks Force, Youth Crimes,and Crime Prevention. He serves as an advisor for the Round Rock Explorers program, and he is currently a certified teacher through SBEC. Officer Larry Hayes graduated from Concordia University in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science. He has served as an officer with the Round Rock Police Department for the past 14 years and has been the School Resource Officer for Round Rock High School for the past eight years. Officer Hayes is certified by the Texas Institute for Public Problem Solving (TIPPS) and has taught Community Policing, DOPLER &LASAR RADAR, and Accident Reconstruction for local police departments. He has also taught various law related programs for Round Rock High School, including drug and alcohol awareness classes. He serves as an advisor for the Round Rock Explorers program, and is currently a certified teacher through SBEC. We hope that your son or daughter will enjoy their experience in this exciting new program, and we are confident that they will learn and appreciate the different aspects of the criminal justice system.
