I am so excited to have this opportunity to be part of the Round Rock High
School family. I began teaching in Los Angeles, California in 1996 and then
moved to Western High School, in Anaheim, in 1999. I received my Bachelor's
Degree in Liberal Studies and English from California State University at
Long Beach in 1996, along with my teaching credential. More recently, in
2001, I received my Master's Degree in Education and Technology. It was very
difficult to leave the great kids I had in Anaheim, but it was time for a
change. Round Rock has been more than welcoming and I look forward to
another sensational school year.
I have one thirteen year old son, Quentin, so I keep pretty busy. We enjoy
football, basketball, camping, exploring caves, biking, playing games, and
relaxing in whatever water we can find - pool, beach, lake. I also try to
save my pennies because I love to travel. I have been to Europe, China,
Peru, various places in Mexico, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and most of the
Western United States.
Above all else, I want my students to become critical thinkers who can
express their ideas effectively. In order to reach a high level of analysis,
we need to be strong readers, writers, and speakers. I hope we can all work
together to not only meet the challenges before us, but to exceed them.
