I am the designated G/T testing coordinator. If you would like your child
to be screened for G/T please write your child's teacher a note during the
designated nomination window below and he/she will pass the information on
to me. The screening procedures and guidelines for PISD Advanced Academics
program can be found on the PISD website (there is a link from my
homepage). Below is the nomination & screening window for the 2012-13
school year.
1) Nomination Window: NOV. 26- DEC. 14
2) Teacher and Parent surveys and data collection
3) Collect sample work and assemble Portfolios
4) CogAT or NNAT tests administered: JAN. 7-31
5) Kinder. parents notified of G/T screening results: MAR. 1
6) Kinder. students begin receiving G/T services (PFLEX Program): MAR. 1
7) 1st-5th Grade parents notified of G/T screening results: MAY 1*
*G/T services begin FALL 2013 for newly identified 1st-5th Graders
