Dear Kindergarten Parents,
This week our story was “The Night Worker”. We learned that some people work
at night while we sleep. In Social Studies we learned that some jobs provide
services and some provide goods. We are working on consonant blends in the
initial (beginning) position of a word. We are also concentrating on making
the correct short vowel sound in short words. In Math we continue to work on
subtraction. We have found creative ways to model addition and subtraction
using word stories, dominos, pennies and blocks. We now know the plus,
minus and equal signs. During our Jesus time we are focusing on the early
church and the spreading of the Gospel. We learned about Pentecost and
Peter’s Sermon. They knew how important it was to tell others about Jesus
and it is still important today!
Individual School pictures are coming home today. These pictures were not
pre ordered. If you would like to purchase any of the pictures, please keep
the pictures that you want and send the unwanted pictures and the money back
to school. If you do not want to purchase any pictures, please send the
entire packet back. If you purchase the entire package, please send only the
money back. You are financially responsible for any unreturned pictures. If
you have any questions, please let us know. Thanks!
