About the Teachers

Mrs.Pieper:
I am a proud graduate of Lutheran education from
Kindergarten through college. I have taught pre-school to grade two
in formal classroom settings, and have worked with middle school and
upper grade students in more informal groups over the years. I
directed an early childhood program and after school care program in
Austin,Texas before moving to Tomball in 1990. I have been teaching
at Salem Lutheran School for the past twelve years. My husband, Kevin,
and I are the proud parents of John, age 23, and Michael, age 21. I
am passionate about using the arts in worship, and particularily
enjoy drama. I also like to go on dates with my husband and boys, and work
in my yard. During vacations, you can usually find my nose in a book, or traveling. The most important element of my life is my relationship with Jesus Christ. I try to live that with my students, and make Bible Study and church a priority in my life. Teaching is a privilege for me, and a unique
opportunity for me to serve God, and influence young lives in a profound way spiritually, academically, socially, and emotionally.
I'd like to take this opportuntiy to say hello, and to tell you how honored
I am to be entrusted with your most precious treasure-your child. I know
this year is going to be the best, and we have gotten off with a great
start!
Second Graders are great to work with because they enjoy coming to
school, and they love their teachers. They are also just beginning to discover their independence in school, and being able to be a part of that just pleases me. I want to encourage all of us-teacher, parents, and students to work together, and to make this year productive,
fun, and memorable.

Mrs. David:
I first want to say how excited and privileged I am to be part of this
ministry at Salem.  I grew up going to Our Savior Lutheran church and school in Austin.  I enjoyed playing sports such as volleyball, basketball, soccer, and running track.  One of my passions is playing volleyball, which I had the opportunity to play in high school and college.  Halfway through my high school experience, my family moved to Valparaiso, Indiana where I graduated and continued to Valparaiso University to study Elementary Education, play two years of Division 1 volleyball, and study abroad for a semester in Germany and 7 additional countries in Europe.
Knowing I wanted to return to Texas, I made an effort to get my name out
through the district and make contacts.  I got a call to teach at Immanuel
Lutheran in Giddings, TX.  I think my family was more excited in the fact
that I would be getting back to my roots and heritage.  While there, I
taught two years of 1st grade and 1 year of 2nd grade.  I also coached 5th-8th grade girls volleyball and 1 year of co-ed soccer.  I enjoy praise music and drama, which I tried to instill in my classroom.
In my downtime, I like to spend time with my family in Walburg, TX, go
running, and enjoy the outdoors.
After receiving the call to teach here at Salem, I knew that there was
something huge instore for me.  God placed me here for a reason to teach
and care for the children.  It is an honor to be able to share my knowledge
and faith with the families of Salem.  Second grade is a dynamic year
because it is the building block from what they learned in 1st grade.  You
start to see their independence shine through and the light bulbs turn on.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know you all.
