The Spring program has been changed to Tuesday, May 17th. We will begin with classroom visitations at 6 pm. We will all head to the Worship Center at 6:45 for the 7:00 program. We will have a few art and class items for you to look at with awards for the students. This will be a come and go open house. The students need to wear red, orange, or yellow shirts and jeans.
Since the library close early, we are adjusting the AR goals. The students need to meet 75% of their AR goal to receive credit for the quarter.
Our field trip permission slips for the Police Academy are due this Wednesday. We will be going to the Houston Police Academy on Friday, May 20th. We will be leaving school at 8;45 for the Police Academy. We will be outside most of the day visiting the different departments of the police force. Following the Academy, we will head to Matheson Park for lunch and play time. We should arrive back at Salem between 2:30 and 3:00.
We are currently working on 3 digit by 1 digit multiplication and moving on to long division. The students are catching on quickly to the concepts. Some still need fact practice! Please continue to do Mad Minutes at home. Thank you!
Taylor Moore's family is graciously hosting an End of the Year party for the 3rd grade. If you have not received the information, please contact Mr. S or Mrs. Tally for more details. Many people have offered to bring party supplies. We have an End of the Year project that will be assigned this week. The students have listened to us for long enough - it's now their turn! Each student will either "Teach the Teacher" something or do a Book Talk. Be looking for a sheet coming home this week.
We have a 3rd grade tradition of reflecting on the year and each other as the year draws to a close. We will be sending home a paper with the names of the students in the class. Your child is to write something positive for each member of the class. This will be made into a special keepsake for each student. Please assist your child, as needed, to complete this assignment.
