CLASSROOM RULES:
**Classroom rules are posted as reminders**
RULE #1-When responding to an adult, you must answer by saying “Yes ma’am”
or “No sir.”
RULE #2-Make eye contact. When someone is speaking, keep your eyes on him
or her at all times.
RULE #3-Do not smack your lips, tsk, roll your eyes, or show disrespect with
gestures.
RULE #4-Respect other students’ comments, opinions, and ideas.
RULE #5-If you win, do not brag; if you lose, do not show anger.
RULE #6-Always say thank you when I give you something. If you do not say
it within three seconds after receiving the item, I will take it back.
RULE #7-Answer all written or oral questions with a complete sentence.
RULE #8-Homework will be turned in on time by every student. A written
excuse must be provided if homework is not completed, and a detention will
follow with consequences.
RULE #9-You will make every effort to be as organized as possible.
RULE #10-When your teachers assign homework, there is to be no moaning or
complaining.
RULE #11-While you are with a substitute teacher or another adult, you will
obey the same rules that you follow when I am with you.
RULE #12-Flush the toilet and wash your hands after using the rest rooms.
RULE #13-If you have a question about your homework, you may call or e-mail
me.
RULE #14-While you are in the cafeteria, you must respect the rules. Before
you leave your table, you must make sure the area is clean! Take pride in
your school.
RULE #15-When we ride on a bus, we will always sit facing forward. We will
never turn around to talk to other students, stick anything out of the
windows, or get out of our seats. When we exit the bus, we will always
thank the bus driver and tell him/her to have a good day.
RULE #16-If someone bumps into you, even if it was not your fault,
say, “Excuse me.” Do not look for a fight.
RULE #17-During an assembly, be respectful. Do not look around and try to
get the attention of your friends in other classes.
RULE #18-When we return from a trip, you will thank us for taking the time
to take you on the trip, and you will let us know that you appreciate having
the opportunity to go.
RULE #19-When in a line, walk single file with your hands to yourself,
either behind your back, hug, or in pockets. There will be absolutely no
talking.
RULE #20-Never cut in line. If someone cuts in front of you, do not say or
do anything about it. Let it happen, but let me know about it.
RULE #21-If a child in this school is bothering you, let me know. I am your
teacher, and I am here to look after you and protect you.
RULE #22-Accept that you are going to make mistakes. Learn from them and
move on.
RULE #23-No matter what the circumstances, always be honest.
RULE #24-Be the best person you can be.
I expect all students to abide by the rules of the classroom and the school.

CONSEQUENCES FOR BREAKING A RULE:
A check will appear on the class clipboard each time a student breaks a
rule. Each check means 5 minutes from recess. If warranted, the child may
have to write the broken rule in cursive for a designated amount of times.
If a child receives 3 checks in one day, a discipline notice will be written
up; therefore, requiring a parent signature. Three discipline notices per 3
weeks is automatic BMC.
--------------------------------------
REWARDS FOR NO CHECKS:
Each student will receive a "ticket" a day for receiving NO CHECKS. At the
end of the week, those "tickets" will be turned in for a wooden nickel.
Every 6 weeks, those wooden nickels are then used to purchase items in our
school store.
--------------------------------------
OTHER REWARDS:
If a student completes work neatly, helps another student/teacher, assists
when not asked, or performs a random act of kindness, they could also
receive a wooden nickel, a Good Character recognition w/prize or a High-5.
