How long are books checked out for?
Books are checked out for 2 weeks; renewals for additional 2
weeks.
Exception: books may not be renewed if the book is needed by
another student
for an assignment. Students may reserve books for 2 weeks.
How much are overdue fines?
Fines are 10 cents a day, not including weekends, holidays, or
days students
are absent. Books must be returned the first day back to
school. A one (1)
day grace period is given, but fines of 10 cents per day will be
included if
the book is not returned by the end of the grace period.
How many books can be checked out?
PK & Kinder 1 book
1st grade 2 books
2-3 grade 3 books
4-8 grade 4 books
Additional library books may be checked out if needed for a
report such as
Middle School research papers.
If a student is not able to keep up with numerous books checked
out at a
time, then student may only have 1 book checked out at a time.
Can I check out a book if I owe a fine or have an overdue book?
No, not until the overdue book is returned and the fine paid.
Overdue
notices for late books or fees will be posted via RenWeb each
month.
Can reference books be checked out?
Reference books, including encyclopedias, thesauruses,
dictionaries, and
magazines are for in-library use only.
Can parents check out books from the library?
The library has a collection of parenting books located in the
PARENT
CORNER. Over 100 titles dealing with important parenting issues,
cooking,
arts and crafts, etc. are available for parent check out.
Parents may use
their student's library card.
