Where can I find science articles?

Go to the links page and you will find several websites that have current 
science articles that are approptiate for your science article assignment.

How do I view my grades?

Go the links page and click on RenWeb.  Once on that website you enter the 
district code: ste-tx, your email address that was registered with the 
school, and then enter your password.  You click on parent log in and it 
will take you the grades pages.

What is the science binder?

Your science binder is a 3 ring notebook which contains dividers #1-31.  You 
have a table of contents which shows what goes in each section of the 
notebook.  The notebook is graded once a quarter.

I have lost my table of contents how do I get another one?

Go to the documents page for your grade level and you will will see a link 
for your table of contents.  Click the link, open the document then print.

What is homework helpers?

Homework helpers is a program designed to prevent students from receiving 
zeros for assignments.  The teacher will give a student a missing homework 
notice for an assignment not completed on the date it was due.  Students 
then have that night to complete the assignment.  The assignment is then to 
be turned in the next morning at 8:00 am for 10 points off.  If the student 
does not have the 
assignment completed the next day they will receive a zero for the 
assignmen.

Learning Lab.  Students must stay from 3:155 - 4:00 pm.  They will turn in 
the assignment at the end of Lab for 20 points off.  If the assignment is 
not turned in then the student receives a zero.

When is tutoring available?

Monday - Thursday from 3:30 - 4p.m. You will go to the disgnated area where 
each teacher will come and ask if anyone needs assistance in their subject 
area.

Can I sign up to meet with a teacher?

You may schedule a time to meet with a teacher.  Just ask the teacher when 
they are available.

I have lost my Science Binder. What do I do?

Get another 3 ring binder, download and print a new table of contents, 
parent/student letter, safety contract, science article due date form.  I 
would then borrow someone's binder and photocopy the information you lost.  
Just draw a line through name on the papers copied.  Write your name 
and "lost binder" on the line to indicate why you have their work.

Do all tests have to be signed?

Yes, this way parents know every test grade.

What is the correct way to do test corrections?

In order to receive credit you must do the test corrections in RED INK on 
the test.  You will receive half credit for each item corrected.  It will 
show up under extra credit on RenWeb.

What do I do if I am absent?

You are ultimately responsible to get the work you missed when you are 
absent.  It is up to you to go to the teacher and request the work you 
missed.  You can check the website for a list of the homework.

Do you give Extra Credit?

I do not give extra credit to individual students.  Students may do test 
corrections for extra points.  Students are given the opportunity to do a 
bonus article every quarter.  Instances will occur through out the year in 
which students are given the opportunity to earn extra points.
