I am from Mexico City, I have been living in the Houston area for the last 32 years. This is my 13th year working at SFdS. I am the Spanish teacher Kindergarten to 3rd grade.

PRIMER GRADO - FIRST GRADE Greetings Review #’s 1 - 10 Teach #’s 11 - 20 Days of the Week How many? - ¿Cuántos? Name them - Nombrarlos Name of the Month at the moment. Colors - Review basic colors - Learn new ones. Family - Papá, mamá, niño/a, abuelo/a, tio/a, etc. Parts of the Body - Cabeza, cara, manos, pies, ojos, nariz, boca, orejas. Start Parts of the House - La Casa School - Escuela/Colegio Things at school - Libro, lápiz, papel... Persons - Directora, maestra, enfermera, secretaria. Animals - Gallina, pollito, vaca, caballo, etc. Preguntas - ¿Cómo te llamas? ¿Dónde estás?) Prayers and songs in Spanish. SEGUNDO GRADO - SECOND GRADE Review #’s 1 - 20 Teach #’s 20 - 50 Review Days of the Week. Write date w/ month. Some weather (frio/calor/lluvia...) Teach some clothing items. What do you wear in winter? - ¿Qué ropa usas en invierno? Review colors - Just review. Review family - Just review. Learn the alphabet. Review Parts of the Body and conversation. Review Parts of the House and what we can see from the window - jardin, garage, piscina... Food. What do you learn in school? ¿Qué aprendes en la escuela? Matemáticas, lenguaje, geografía... Conversation about food, vegetables, fruits and things at the table. Quick review of domestic animals and add some from the zoo. Prayers and songs in Spanish.
