I am a graduate of St. Francis De Sales ('00)! I attended St. Agnes Academy 
for High School and then continued my education at Stephen F. Austin State 
University. I graduated from SFA in December of 2008 with a degree in Child 
and Family Development. I was a teacher aide for 2 years at SFA Early 
Childhood Lab. I also worked at the SFA Charter School as an After School 
Care Coordinator for 1st-5th grade. My first job out of college was at 
Bethany Methodist Weekday School where I taught Infants and 3 year olds. This 
will be my first year teaching at SFDS. I am very excited to start off the 
new Pre-K 3 program and meet all of the new families. I love working with 
children and I want to make this a fun and exciting experience for all the 
little kiddos!
General Goals :

Prepare young children for future learning by providing an initial 
experience in a nurturing school setting 
Provide developmentally appropriate readiness activities for four year olds  
Provide opportunities for social interaction, recreation and skills practice 
Facilitate adjustment to school schedules and routines 

Specific Goals :: 

Offer a balanced readiness curriculum in conceptual learning: language-
thinking skills, appreciation of literature, and quantitative skills 
Expose children to the rudiments of our Catholic faith appropriate for the 
young child 
Allow time for social learning and independent self-help skills 
Encourage appreciation of fine arts by providing opportunities to enjoy 
music, drama, puppetry, and art 
Develop fine motor (eye hand) coordination 
Develop and strengthen students' gross motor skills (balance, large muscle 
coordination) through appropriate physical education training 
Look for developmental weaknesses which can be strengthened through 
appropriate intervention, including recommendations for visual or auditory 
screening, speech and language therapy, or physical motor tests
