This year will be my 11th at St. Helen Catholic School. I taught 3rd grade
for 8 years and fourth grade one. I also taught art overseas. Last year I
moved down to second grade and I loved it. Mrs. Quick and I will team teach
again. She will teach the Language Arts block, which consist of
English,Reading,Spelling, and handwriting. I will teach Math, Science, and
Social Studies. We will each prepare the children for First Communion.
I was born and raised in Robstown, Texas. I attended Texas A&M University in
Kingsville,Texas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary
Education with a specialization in Art. I have worked with children for over
30+ years. I am married, my husband is retired from the Arm Forces. As a
dependant military spouse, my family has had the opportunity to travel and
meet a diversity of people and learn about their culture. We have three
grown children. Two daughters and a son. Shirley and her husband have an
almost 2 year old little boy named Dezi and are expecting their second child
sometime in February. Her husband Eugy served in Iraq and will be getting
ready to go to Afghanistan. Our daughter Sarah and her husband Daniel have
twin daughters Avalon and Alyssa who are 4 1/2 and they will be joining the
Saint Helen family across the street. Two years ago Daniel was seriously
wounded in Iraq. He lost part of his leg and now has a prosthetsis. We thank
God everyday that Daniel is with us. He is now retired from the Army...
please continue to pray for those brave men and women who keep our country
free. Our son Ivan attends the University of St. Thomas. He is a Junior and
will be playing basketball. This is the first year that St. Thomas has a
basketball team!! We are all excited for him.
I feel very blessed to be part of St. Helen. I am looking forward to getting
to know you and your child. My goal is to make the learning process an
exciting and productive experience. I believe that with your support and
encouragement we can achieve this goal. Thank you for sharing your children
with me.
