I assume by now you have seen something on the news about Swine Flu. At this point our best defense at the center is diligent personal hygiene for the children as well as staff. I ask that you follow the link http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/ to review the information, and keep a watchful eye on your children, Additionally, refrain from sending your child to school if they are not feeling well and have them seen by their doctor. Please understand our need to strictly enforce our illness policies at this time as we all do our part to lessen the spread of this flu.
Should a mandatory closing be called by officials, we will follow their instructions, and will keep you posted on any further information via this website or personal phone calls by your child’s teacher.

Yearly Fundraisers
Thank you to all who particpated in the JOE CORBI fundraiser. The center's profit was $3,100.00. This money will be used to replenish funds spent on the playground repairs not covered by insurance as a result of IKE. Thanks to your support of the fundraising efforts this year we were able to buy new computers in each of the 7 classrooms, over $1000.00 in materials for the Atrium as well as the previously mentioned playground repairs.Thank you again for your constant support of this community.

ECC NEWS
Thank you for your response to the yearly survey. We received a lot of good questions about some of our established policies. Many of the questions pertained to the hot lunch program. The lunch program that we offer at the Early Childhood Center is offered to us by St. .Helen Catholic School. We are allowed to buy lunches from their cafeteria, however, we have no input on the menus and are unable to affect any changes. Some parents are concerned about the repetitiveness of the menu and asked why certain meals are always served on certain days. The reason for this is that the school is only allowed to cook in the kitchen two days a week (Tues. & Thurs.) and the rest of the days are brought in. This is the reason pizza and chicken nuggets appear on the menu only on Wed. and Fri.
We got lots of great feed back on our program that will help us plan for next year and enable us to review and revise our policies and guidelines when warranted. Thank you for helping us serve your family's needs.
