Dual Credit Info

APPLICATION: Complete application process

1. Apply online at www.austincc.edu/apply

  • Non-U.S. Citizens without a SSN must complete the “ECS Student Data Form for Non-Citizen Texas Residents” to obtain an alternate number to be used on the ACC admissions application
  • Print, complete, and keep Residency Information form

2. PRE-ADVISING: Required for all first time college students

  • Complete ACC 101 at www.austincc.edu/acc101
  • Print and keep “ACC 101 Checklist”
  • Obtain and keep high school transcript from registrar or counselor to determine eligibility

3. TESTING: Determine exemption from testing or take ASSET or COMPASS test

Exempt with:

  • TAKS (10th or 11th grade): ELA 2200 Lang Arts and 3+ on essay, MATH 2200
  • SAT: Composite 1070, Critical Reading 500, Math 500
  • ACT: Composite 23, English 19, Math 19
  • Visit high school counselor to sign-up for ASSET test if offered at high school -OR-
  • Obtain Application for a COMPASS Fee Waiver from high school counselor
  • Schedule test by contacting an ACC campus Assessment Office
  • Present COMPASS waiver & picture ID to ACC Assessment Office on day of test
  • Tests sites are listed below:

Pinnacle

Rio Grande

Riverside

South Austin

Round Rock Higher South Austin

4. ADVISING: To select courses based on goals, test scores, commitments, etc.

  • Meet with high school counselor to select courses and complete ECS form
  • Meet with ACC advisor or ECS specialist
  • Submit all paperwork to ACC Admissions office or ECS specialist

o ECS form

o Transcript

o Residency Information form

o ACC 101 Checklist

o Test scores (ACT, SAT, 10th or 11th TAKS, if used to TSI exemption)

o If advising not available at high school, advising can be completed at any ACC location.
